MEXICO CITY

One of the most exciting and fun cities in the world, Mexico City offers fascinating history, famous archaeology sites, rich contemporary culture, art, fashion and world-famous gastronomy.

1: Art Galleries, Art Shopping, Meet Artists and Street Art Experiences

Mexico City is famous for its contemporary art scene and is full of boutique galleries and exhibitions. we love to help clients who are interested in Latin American art tour the city and meet local artists with a view to learning more and even buying art and adding to their collections. We also work with fashion designers and other designers in the city to give visitors interested in the general art scene an experience of what’s happening right now in the emerging art and design scene of Mexico City.

2. Food Tour in Roma District

Roma District in Mexico City has now become more famous since the film, “Roma” won critical acclaim. It provides a beautiful and historical backdrop to one of our favourite foodie experiences in Mexico City. You get to explore the Roma district on foot with your chef guide and buy and eat wonderful local food and drink of all types from seafood to haute cuisine, tequila to coffee. an amazing way to delve into the social life of a particular area of this incredible city.

3. Cultural and Historical Tour of Mexico City

A visit to the historic centre of Mexico City is a must. Soak up the atmosphere of the central Zocolo (Main Central Plaza) and visit the nearby Palacio Nacional to see the famous murals of Diego Rivera. More incredible works of art can be found in the Palacio de Bellas Artes. The building features murals by Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Roberto Montenegro, and houses exhibition halls for sculpture and painting. It is also home to the National Museum of Architecture, and the National Theater. We also enjoy taking guests to Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and of course the famous “Blue House” of Museo Frida Kahlo and the house where she and Diego Rivera lived.

4. Hot Air Balloon over Teotihuacan Archaeology Site

This is a not to be missed experience in Mexico City. Awake before dawn to travel close to the ancient temple site of Teotihuacan and watch whilst these majestic hot air balloons are infalted. Take flight and hover in and around the huge temples. It really is an amazing experience. Once on the ground we recommend a hearty breakfast before exploring the site on foot to get up close and personal with this impressive archaeology site.

The origins of Teotihuacan are a mystery. It was built by hand more than a thousand years before the arrival of the Nahuatl-speaking Aztec. It was however the Aztec who gave its current name: Teotihuacan.

5. Anthropology Museum After Hours - Private Tour

Mexico City’s Anthropology Museum is world-famous for its Archaeology and Ethnographic collections. It holds the major pieces of the Piedra del Sol, the Coatlicue and the Piedra de Tízoc. Of course, we can arrange visits during the day but an amazing VIP way to visit is to go after hours when the museum is empty and quiet and you have all the time in the world to explore with your guide.

6. Xochimilco Mexico City Canals and Eco-Agriculture and Conservation Project

An early morning sunset boat tour of the Xochimilco canals gives you a glimpse of how Mexico City was built up as platforms over a lake. There are now many agriculture projects providing sustainably grown products for the markets and restaurants in the City. Enjoy breakfast aboard the boat as you float along the canals, enjoy some bird watching and then visit an eco-agriculture and conservation project to learn more about how people are trying to protect this historic and beautiful natural area.

We have so many more ideas of what to do in Mexico City and surrounding area so please do get in touch if you are thinking about a holiday or honeymoon in Mexico.
