I’m not one to blow my own trumpet but since I didn’t actually win in the end I feel less self-conscious talking about it!

Runner up in Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards 2018

I was recently shortlisted for the Forward Ladies, “Women in Business” awards in the categories of STARTUP and INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS. I thought it was a great opportunity to show both my mother and daughter a little bit of what it is like to be a female in business so I booked tickets for us all to attend.

My mother was a teacher and I don’t think ever really understood what it was like to work in the world of business. She especially never really had exposure to what it is like to be a struggling entrepreneur. I knew she would be fascinated to meet and hear from women who have achieved great things in business, often having to overcome great challenges.

My daughter is a bright button who I knew would love to feel like a special guest and listen to the inspiring stories of the female speakers. An amazing opportunity to see proof of what women can and do achieve in all areas of the workforce. I knew just being there to soak up the energy and excitement of an event like this would be something she would remember for a long time.
