The One&Only Reethi Rah is still one of the most luxurious resorts in the Maldives and continues to be one of the best sellers. Its location on a large island creates a feeling of real exclusivity and privacy. If you are wondering where to stay in the Maldives that is both luxurious and great for families this could be for you. The One&Only Reethi Rah appeals to families as well as couples with one of the best kids clubs in the Maldives and often with offers where children can stay for free. The One&Only Reethi Rah Spa is like stepping into another world – it’s incredibly impressive. This luxury hotel offers a large variety of restaurant and bar options which is not often available in properties on the Maldives. The One&Only Reethi Tah surprises many visitors with a warmer and more relaxed atmosphere than expected.

Six Senses Laamu

Six Senses Laamu Maldives with Curious Travel

The Six Senses Laamu luxury hotel on the Maldives offers real “barefoot luxury” yet is more affordable than say Soneva Fushi & Jani. Six Senses Laamu is located down in Laamu Atoll and offers a real feeling of getting away from it all. The luxury hotel has a good balance of luxury and sustainability. It is an “eco-resort” and is our most popular 5 Star resort. Six Senses Laamu has a general manager that has worked there for many years and this shows in the way it is clearly superbly run.

Constance Moofushi

If you are looking for a more affordable resort in the Maldives we love the 4 Star all-inclusive resort of Constance Moofushi. We love this hotel and it is our biggest seller. Although the price is 4 star the service is definitely 5 Star. The Constance Moofushi resort has a great atmosphere because of the all-inclusive offering which is both quality and generous. There is a great house reef and this is a resort we highly recommend to visitors who do not have the 5 Star budget but want the best Maldives experience possible for their budget. Top tip – the senior water villas are more like 5-star rooms so book them if you can!

The Hurawalhi is an excellent 5 Star resort for those on more of a budget. It is an adults-only resort and has the most impressive underwater restaurant in the Maldives. The Hurawalhi offers rooms with and without pools and all constructed in fine wood in tastefully weathered colours. The resort has an excellent beach and house reef.

Kanuhura luxury resort in the Maldives has recently been refurbished and has a fresh, stylish new vibe. The resort offers a wonderful feeling of space and privacy with a gorgeous, long, beautiful beach and a separate island where the restaurant and activities are located. Kanuhura is located on a large island and it’s rooms are spacious with huge gardens and private pools. This is another great option for those that cannot afford the very top end and like a more chic, funky and fresh style. If you are wondering where to stay in the Maldives that is both chic and great value, this could be for you.

The Finolhu is genuinely trying to be different and appealing to younger couples and groups. The resort has resident and visiting DJ’s, it puts on parties and there is just a great buzz and atmosphere around the place. If you think “upmarket Ibiza crowd” and that appeals to you then this is the place for you. Price wise it is a great lead-in 5 Star resort on an all-inclusive basis. If you are wondering where to stay in the Maldives that is both luxurious, relaxing but also good for more of a party atmosphere – this could be for you.

Amilla Fushi

Amilla Fushi in our opinion just sits under the top luxury resorts and another Maldives resort that is trying to be different. The resort has bold, modern architecture and Mediterranean interiors which contrasts with many of the other Maldives luxury resorts. it is located on a beautiful island which has a unique, lovely wild feel to it. The house reef is one of the best. Excellent for families, the Amilla Fushi has offers the best value family villas in the Maldives and their 6 bedroom Estate Villa is a Miami style villa and one of the most impressive high-end, large, villa options in the Maldives.

St Regis

St Regis Luxury Resort Maldives with Curious Travel

The St Regis Maldives is a small and very top end luxury Maldives resort. It offers striking, unique, modern architecture (you have to check out the Lobster Bar!) and is very contemporary and hi-tec in all its facilities and special touches. The St Regis offers a large number of different restaurants for such a small resort and in terms of luxury and services, we think it is almost up there with the like of Velaa, One&Only etc.

We hope you found this summary of some of our favourite resorts in the Maldives. Do contact us if you are interested in discussing these or other options further.
